A standard blood pressure monitor may be used to measure the BP, which is entered into the system.
Then, the ultrasound probe is positioned over the carotid artery on the neck and oriented to capture the carotid wall dynamics, in a few minutes.
The device calculates the various carotid stiffness indices and displays them for quick reference.
